A Simple Way to Stop Binge Eating – How to Stop Eating So Much

POST BY : Bob B Taylor |

eating disorders

Bulimia Nervosa, most commonly known as bulimia, is an eating disorder in which an individual engages in recurrent binge eating followed by feelings of depression, guilt, and self-condemnation. An individual who suffer from this type of eating disorder usually purge to compensate for the excessive eating and try to prevent weight gain. Purging can take the form of vomiting, inadequate use of laxatives, enemas or excessive physical exercise. This disease is mainly found in women aged from 16 to 40, but it most commonly starts around the age of 19. However, at times it develops in men and children as well.

In last few years, the ratio of people suffering from Bulimia Nervosa has increased proportionately. In fact, according to recent studies, it is even predicted that the number of people suffering from Bulimia eating disorder is two to three times as much as the number of people currently living with AIDS. Apart from this, it has also been found that Bulimia also affects different organs. The longer an individual suffer from Bulimia the more organs get affected and damaged. The organs that generally suffer are kidney, heart, digestive system, bones, endocrine glands and even brain. Certainly, these are only some alarming indications that clearly point towards the seriousness of Bulimia Nervosa. Thus the simple and best way to prevent from dangerous effects is to treat this eating disorder sooner rather than later.

Do you really want to be tied down by such a trivial thing such as food for your whole entire life? Here is the reality of a binge eater; if you tend to eat way too much food on a regular basis then you are in turn risking your health and well being on a regular basis. Why do this if it is possible to easily control your eating habits through a technique that I am about to share with you?

The next way of treatment is Group Therapy. As the name suggest, in this type of therapy a sufferer is supposed to get ongoing support and help from other sufferers and a group leader. But this way cannot be very helpful every time. At times, it can truly become harmful to many sufferers. The reason is that in group, patients frequently get worse or connect in more symptoms just to get extra attention from each other or the therapist.

Apart from all this, outpatient therapy is yet another type of therapy where a sufferer is allowed to go home after each session. Today there are many people who are responding to this type of therapy very well. This type of therapy gives them a feeling of security being in a home environment. Though, this type of treatment program largely demands a family care. In this type of treatment, it is important that the family cautiously watch and taka care of the sufferer while he or she is at home and ensure there are no bingeing and purging.

If you take an effective appetite suppressant on a regular basis then you absolutely can take control of your eating. I must warn you though, it can be very difficult to find a legitimate appetite suppressant as the supplements in this industry are far from created equally

3 Surprising Beauty Tip Uses for Honey

POST BY : Bob B Taylor |

cosmetic skincare+ making – When you think of beauty tips, do you think of the sweet stuff? Just for starters, I know I like to have a nice chocolate facial. There is also sweet stuff like sugar scrubs or vanilla steams.

But all those things are really costly. The last spa visit I had cost me way over 150 dollars Fortunately, there are a lot of ways to give yourself the same sweet treatments at home. What is the base ingredient for these facials and masques? You guessed it, honey.

Read below for a few in-home uses for honey that will leave you feeling luscious and wonderful in no time:

* Beauty Tips Using Honey #1: Bubbles are great - When you add a cup of honey to your bubble bath it will leave your skin so soft. If you want an extra glow to you skin, exfoliate with a loofah while in the tub. If you want to take a milk bath, much like Cleopatra, just add 4 tablespoons of whole milk powder to your bath. Of course, any time you bathe in edible products, be sure you rinse off really well when you are done.

* Beauty Tips With Honey #2: Use a few different layers. - An egg white mask can be made by whipping egg whites, a tablespoon of honey and a small amount of flour or unsweetened cocoa together to make a really thick paste. Open up your pores first by putting a hot cloth on your face for 3 minutes. You then smooth the mask on. Relax for 10 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and admire your fresh, youthful skin.

* Honey Beauty Tip #3: You can make your own skin toner. - Put a half a cup of honey, 2 cups of buttermilk and a half a cup of rosewater in an airtight container and mix together. If you have a Tupperware with a screw-on lid, it will work perfect. Then shake the mixture until blended well. Don’t worry, its supposed to be runny and a cloudy color. Then for tight, toned skin, apply it with a cotton ball.

You should use the best honey for these treatments. You just need a good sized jar of organic honey, which is less than 20 dollars, that hasn’t been treated with chemicals or preservatives. You can use this for your honey do beauty tips for months to come.

Nature’s Ways or Man’s Way – Which Is Best?

POST BY : Bob B Taylor |

There is a balance between industries and common every day folk across all walks and aspects of life. There is no doubt about it, big corporations have become very powerful. They have developed influence in the political arena as part of their power structures.

Therefore, you have an industry that manufactures drugs. Maybe, as rumour has it, they have wrapped their arms around a certain government regulatory agency. Who knows? With this power, they can spend money on research and get ‘approved’ by this regulatory agency. Then they can market their prescription medications for outrageous prices.

Yet, the natural remedies that currently exist, such as high blood pressure natural remedies, have no such champion with big purse strings. In fact, many of the big prescription drug medications are nothing more than concentrated, synthetic and slightly different copies of compounds that naturally exist in nature.

So, therefore, regular remedies, like gout natural remedies, that grow in the forest, desert or perhaps even in one’s backyard can’t get the stamp of approval from this unnamed government agency, as a substance that is proven to have a positive effect on health.

It’s rather funny when you think about it. But then, nature was there before any government and nature will be there after. Interesting isn’t it? Nature doesn’t seem to require government approval.

But we spoke of a balance a few moments ago. The power definitely seems to rest on one side of the equation. But what is happening on the other side? Alternative healers, old books, and folk wisdom passed down through the ages are still out there and from them, many people learn to apply natural healing methods (that don’t have that big stamp of approval from an authoritarian agency) to solve their health problems. Because the costs of getting ‘official’ treatment and officially approved prescription meds now make the cost of getting said treatment beyond the reach of many.

In other cases, some people just know about simple things that work and they seem to work better, cost less and cause less trauma to the human body when implemented than the results derived from going through ‘official’ channels. If you are a person who doesn’t have unlimited wealth, what way are you likely to go?

Next, learn more about: natural remedies for hot flashes and others as well!

Embrace and preserve the natural healing choices that have alway been with us.

Heart Valve Surgery – Tracing the Evolution of Mitral Valve Prolapse

POST BY : Bob B Taylor |

The heart itself is a muscle with the responsibility of pumping blood throughout the body via an arrangement of interconnecting arteries, veins and heart valves referred to as the cardiovascular system. However, to completely understand mitral valve prolapse, one must first understand how the heart functions. There are four chambers in the heart the right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium and left ventricle. Separating the right chambers is the tricuspid valve while the mitral valve separates the left chambers. Oxygen poor blood flows from the body into the right atrium. The tricuspid valve opens in response to the heart beating and allows the blood from the right atrium to empty into the right ventricle. Then this blood is sent to the lungs for oxygenation. The oxygenated blood flows into the left atrium and then passes through the mitral valve into the left ventricle.

The left ventricle is most robust portion of the heart and it performs the function of pushing the blood volume through the body. And in return, places increase pressure on the gate between the left atrium and left ventricle, the mitral valve. This valve looks somewhat similar to an open parachute when closed. Mitral valve prolapse occurs when this parachute like closing begins to bulge into the left atrium. While this in itself is not dangerous, it can and most often does lead to mitral valve regurgitation. This condition is when blood that is to be pumped from the left ventricle out into the body is forced backwards through a partially open mitral valve into the left atrium.

Related:  heart valve replacement

If this condition that initially started as mitral valve prolapse and turned into mitral valve regurgitation becomes severe a multitude of problems can occur. If the regurgitation is great enough, there will be an increased amount of blood in the left atrium that can extend into the lungs.Besides, the left ventricle is under pressure to function forcefully which leads to its enlargement and subsequently leads to heart failure. As with most medical events, prevention or at least early detection is the key.

The cause of this dysfunction is due to physical changes in the valve itself like thickening or a distorted shape. But, what leads to this condition is not known and may be hereditary too. While diagnosis is important, the difficult part is that many people do not experience symptoms related to mitral valve prolapse. Many times, it will be found during a routine physical exam in a doctor’s office. He or she will note a ‘murmur’ when listening to your heart that may alert him or her to a problem. If this is the case, an echocardiogram will be ordered to confirm the suspicions. With the confirmation of a mitral valve prolapse, treatment may only be scheduled follow-ups to check the progress or lack of in the prolapse.

Be Careful About Blood Pressure High Systolic Low Diastolic

POST BY : Bob B Taylor |

There is good reason to suspect that if an individual develops blood pressure that reads as high systolic low diastolic; then they will be at greater risk of developing cardiovascular conditions than someone whose blood pressure is more or less normal. The presence of blood pressure; high systolic low diastolic means that there is greater likelihood that a heart attack or stroke is just around the corner – at least studies conducted by the UC Irvine seem to suggest that this is the case.

Findings Of UC Irvine Study On Blood Pressure High Systolic Low Diastolic

This UC Irvine study that was conducted by Dr. Stanley Franklin and his colleagues at UC Irvine who were engaged in studying heart disease prevention and whose work was also associated with Framingham Heart Study showed, after studying data related to thousands of patients that blood pressure high systolic low diastolic was virtually a certain predictor that the patient would suffer from adverse heart ailments.

What’s more, studies on blood pressure high systolic low diastolic also seemed to suggest that the systolic pressure readings were superior when it came to predicting future cardiovascular troubles in older as well as middle-age persons. Furthermore, blood pressure high systolic low diastolic would almost guarantee that a person with such blood pressure readings would have great risk of experiencing cardiovascular problems.

At present, systolic reading of one hundred and forty along with diastolic reading of ninety and any reading above these numbers point to imminent risk of cardiovascular failure. However, the UC Irvine study seems to suggest that blood pressure high systolic low diastolic is a more relevant pointer toward establishing risk of impending heart attacks and strokes and that therefore these measurements should be given greater weight.

Blood pressure high systolic low diastolic in which diastolic reading is below 70 mm Hg along with systolic reading of 120 mm Hg are normal conditions and there is not much risk of developing heart related problems. It is only when the blood pressure high systolic low diastolic occur simultaneously that there is greater risk to the health of the concerned individual. The reason why blood pressure high systolic low diastolic gives rise to concern is that at these blood pressures the person’s arteries will stiffen and that is not good for a person’s cardiovascular health.

A high diastolic blood pressure reading should warn you that your blood pressure is not the way that it should be. In fact, if the readings is more that 90, it shows the symptoms of hypertension and need of taking remedy immediately.

HBP and Stress: Effects and Remedies

POST BY : Bob B Taylor |

Although stress is not directly linked to High Blood Pressure, higher stress level can lead to increased irregular heartbeat, shortage of breath and spikes of increased blood pressure.

Experiencing stress is normal; however, living in constant stress will eventually lead to developing a serious health condition such as cardiovascular diseases, ulcers, depression, diabetes and other illnesses. In this article we are going to review what stress means and will explain different ways to cope with stress.

Understanding Stress

Based on General Adaptation Syndrome model, the person reacts to stress in three main stages.

“Alarm” response is the first stage of the model. At this stage the person encounters a stressful stimuli and adrenalin is released into the body to create “fight-or-flight” response.

The second stage is called “resistance” response. During this stage, if the stressor is still there, the body tries to adjust to the stressful environment; however, the resources are slowly depleting.

The third stage is called “exhaustion” response. This is the most risky stage because at this point the body’s defense system is exhausted and permanent illnesses can manifest.

Stress Symptoms

Physical

inability to relax,  pains, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, dizziness, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, aches, insomnia, tiredness, muscle tension, indigestion, sweaty palms, ringing in the ears,

Cognitive

Poor judgment, constant worry, difficulty making decisions, forgetfulness, inability to concentrate, lack of creativity, loss of sense of humor

Emotional

a general negative outlook, excessive worrying, mood swings, irritability, anger, irritability, feeling lonely, depressed, feeling hopeless

Behavioral

eating too much or not enough, sleeping too much or not enough, withdrawing from others, procrastinating or neglecting responsibilities, using alcohol, cigarettes, or drugs to relax, and nervous habits (e.g. nail biting)

Coping with Stress

There are several ways to cope with stress.

It has been clinically proven that exercising is an effective way to cope with as stress. In fact, it has been reported to be just as powerful as using medication.

Another way to lower your stress is by using different relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises, meditation, listening to calm music.

If it is required, to assess the stressful situation one can picture stepping out of this situation and viewing it from a bystander point of view. This allows viewing situation in from different angles without being angry or experiencing stress symptoms.

Even though it has not been scientifically proven that stress is directly related to high blood pressure some stress factors may contribute to this phenomena. For instance, stressful situation may result in lack of exercise, weight gain from eating excessively or smoking and consuming too much alcohol. In addition, if the person is under constant stress the immune system is exhausted and hormonal imbalance makes other organs work improperly.
